How earning coins works, how we count play time and how to claim rewards – in short.

14 questions

How do I start earning coins?

Sign in with Steam, pick a server from the list and accept the offer – only then join the game. We take care of the rest: we check the server and count your play time.

When the session ends, the coins appear in your wallet. You don't need to install or change anything in the game.

Does the server or do I need to install anything?

No. The server doesn't need any plugin and you play as usual. We use the public information every server gives to server lists (name, player count and player list) plus data from Steam.

How do you count play time?

We check every server a few times per hour at random intervals – with a single query, so the server isn't burdened.

  • the time between reads in which we saw your nickname counts in full,
  • the start and the end of a session count only partly,
  • if the game reports a score and it doesn't change for a long time, that stretch (AFK) doesn't count.

That's why the result can be a bit lower than your real play time – we'd rather count too little than too much.

Why do I have to accept the offer before joining the server?

Servers pay for players we bring to them. If you were already on the server before accepting the offer, the session is rejected. No harm done – leave the server, accept the offer and join again.

Why are coins “pending” at first?

Coins for playing and bonuses wait in your pending balance for a while (currently: 7 days). This gives us time to sort out any irregularities. After the grace period they move to your available balance on their own – no clicking needed. You'll find the dates in your wallet.

How do I exchange coins for rewards?

Go to the Shop, pick a reward and place an order using your available coins. Exchanges unlock at level 1 (after 5 hours of verified play). You'll find the code under “My orders” – only you can see it.

How long does an order take?

We check every player's first exchange by hand, so it may take a while. Further orders for codes we have in stock are usually fulfilled automatically. Some rewards (e.g. skins) are handed out manually, and larger amounts may also be reviewed. You can follow the order under “My orders”.

What about servers that don't show a player list?

Some servers hide their player list or only report the player count. Verification is weaker then: sometimes Steam can confirm you're playing, but if the server only reports the player count, coins can't be credited. The owner can usually change this in the server config (e.g. by enabling Query in Minecraft) – no plugin needed.

I run a server – how do I add it?

Sign in, go to “Add server” and enter the server address. You confirm ownership with a code you briefly add to the server name or MOTD. Then you top up the budget and launch a campaign – you set the rate, hours and limits yourself. You only pay for verified play time.

What are referral codes and the “P4M” code?

Every player has their own referral link and code (the “Bonuses” tab). A new account that enters a friend's code or the site code P4M gets a starter bonus once they have 1 hour of verified play. The code can be entered within 7 days of signing up.

The referrer gets a bonus for the first referred players who start playing, plus a share of the coins they earn – paid by us, the referred player loses nothing.

Why add the tag to my nickname?

Add p4m to your in-game name as a separate word (e.g. “Player p4m”) and sessions played with that name earn you extra coins. The current bonus and a check of your names are in the “Bonuses” tab.

What do levels give me?

Your level grows with every verified hour of play (finished sessions count). New levels unlock coin exchanges, the daily bonus, one-time rewards and a boost to coins for playing. The full level table is in the “Bonuses” tab.

Is signing in with Steam safe?

Yes. You sign in on Steam's own page, so we never see your password or Steam Guard codes – we only get your public SteamID, name and avatar.

We never ask for passwords, codes or items. Anyone asking for them “on behalf of PLAYforMONEY” is trying to scam you.

Can I have several accounts or refer myself?

One account per person. A second account for referrals and other attempts to game the rules end with a ban and lost coins – that's exactly why coins are pending at first. Fair rules protect players and the servers that pay for promotion.
